Is he really experienced or just one of those pseudo-coaches out there?

I have 25+ years of experience in the IT industry. Have I always been a coach? No! I started my career in software development in ASP, HTML, and JavaScript before Jumping on .NET and C#. I have 15+ years as a manager and servant leader enabling people and supporting agile transformations. Personal coaching here? This is new since 2024! Although coaching has been part of my repertoire for a long time the journey here has just begun.

How much?

I know that’s always one of the questions. I‘d have that too 🙂

I will not coach you for free, but the first session will be completely free, getting to know us both. Afterward, the general rule of thumb is USD 100 for a 45-minute coaching session.

But… I‘m starting new and want to build a great customer base. And especially it‘s really in my heart supporting especially younger people starting their journey. I had the pleasure of receiving much support when starting and want to give back. So to keep it short: 100 bucks is negotiable!

What languages are you speaking?

I speak English and German fluently. French and Turkish I do understand a bit but not enough for professional use.

Can you teach me HTMLX?

No, I won‘t. I will not be a teacher because you will find enough sources to enable you on a specific technology or topic.

But you will teach me to be a Scrum Master?

Still a no! See the above answer.

Well… no HTMLX and no PSM.. wtf.. do you do anything at all?!?

I‘ll be your coach in one of the following 4 fields of action:
1. Market Positioning
2. Social Skills
3. Learning Path
4. Agile Organization

This means I will ask many questions to support you in finding the best path.

What I will do is coach you to find out if learning HTMLX is the right move to make for you. Is it a thing on the market? Does it fit to you? Why do you want to learn it and what is the goal you are working towards (normally it is not HTMLX but more a better life, better financial situation, etc.)

Together we will embark on this journey and also regularly reflect and take measures if needed.

Will I cry?

Short answer: You might! Long answer: It‘s not my goal to make you cry. It‘s my goal to coach you as best as I can. As a software developer you know the term: Root Cause or root cause analysis. Some topics in our sessions will require going back to the root cause and this might initially hurt.

What are your principles and what is coaching?

At least here in Switzerland where I‘ll bring my services, coaching is not a protected term – everyone can call herself/himself a coach.

You can find my understanding of coaching on my „todo ethics“ and more about me and my qualifications.

What does a coaching session look like?

Normally we do remote sessions of 45 minutes with Google Meet.

I will require two things which I will also always bring to the table:
1. Camera on! I always want to see you and you will always see me
2. Focus and Energy: No distractions and full commitment for both of us

Those two are not negotiable.

I didn’t shower today, ok to do the session without a camera on?

See response above: No.

Are you also available between coaching sessions?

Short: Yes if I can. Long: I will generally be available via Google Chat also between our sessions. I will not guarantee an immediate response but will do my best to respond. But I will also draw a line and communicate this clearly because a chat is not a coaching session.

Why do you do it? What’s your motivation?

There are two reasons I started doing this business:
1. I love coaching and enabling people. Many times in my career I had tears in my eyes seeing how well my employees have been doing and for me, this is an unbelievable feeling. I want more of that!
2. It is a wonderful addition to my current career path. I‘m not doing coaching full time and have another wonderful job leading in IT. But I always wanted to start coaching and helping and let’s see where this takes me.
